Yes, assuming Iordache is still injured out I tend to think it'd be a fairly easy world title for Ragan followed by the normal Texas Dreams injury pattern. Can't see how a world title would change any of that.

2017 was just absolutely wild. The amount of injuries sustained in podium training, (Andrade, too! she was a favorite along with Smith and Iordache), let to the most unlikely AA podium ever. Morgan Hurd had some of the most insanely good and insanely bad luck in her career.

I didn't realize that Nola Matthews has been named Sportsperson of the Year at Nationals the last three years in a row.

• Sportsperson of the Year: Nola Matthews (Gilroy, Calif./Airborne Gymnastics Training Center) was voted Sportsperson of the Year by her fellow athletes. The 2023 Winter Cup all-around bronze medalist has proven herself a supportive teammate and an outstanding athlete in the women’s artistic program.

• Sportsperson of the Year: Nola Matthews (Gilroy, Calif./Airborne Gymnastics Training Center). Named recipient of the award for her positive impact on her fellow athletes throughout the 2024 competitive season.

Not gonna lie, I forget who she is the minute the competition ends, but how amazing that she is recognized for how she treats her fellow athletes (is this one a voted on by the athletes award? If so, that is even more incredible that she stands out that much that they are willing to keep giving it to her, even with a different group of athletes every time.)

Yes Sportsperson is voted on by the athletes themselves. It is a sort of Miss Congeniality award.
