Right?! Because level 10s seems to vault just fine, but junior elites are just sad, with a couple of exceptions. It makes me sad that the FTYs aren't even spectacular ones. I don't understand what is going on nation-wide with vault.

I could easily have been watching British juniors there. And I’ve never, ever said that about US nationals.Really, Phantom of the Opera? And this choreo has zero relation to the music.
The current juniors are, on the whole, utterly uninspiring.
That is dreamland stuff though. It’s still incredibly rare to see anyone with a good foundation. Now we just have gymnasts who have neither good basics nor the ability to execute difficult skills consistentlyIn 2005, Chellsie and Nastia did super well, but a lot of these young hotshots burn or injure out. I think it’s better for gymnasts to focus on building a good technical and physical foundation and adding difficulty slowly, taking as long as they need and dropping out if their dream peters out.
Yeah, I know you’re right. Ultimately, let the gymnasts with the good fundamentals should win. The US doesn’t have to win & if it takes treating girls as if they are disposable, I’d rather they didn’t.That is dreamland stuff though.
