Her tumbling is also too easy for her. She barely uses half the diagonal for her full-in!

No, I don't think that would happen. Well, I guess that if they were really bad, they could be penalized for "other undisciplined behavior" (see table below), but other gymnasts would probably riot on that guy's behalf!

Me too. I think perhaps the issue is there selection policy of choosing the team months in advance

Agreed with the way Miyoko Shoko looked at Universiade Games, I would have put her on the World Team, she could have medaled on vault easily.

Does Japan choose their men’s team the same way?

Usually they name both teams following All-Japan and NHK Trophy in the spring. This year both MAG/WAG Jr Worlds teams and MAG/WAG University Games teams were named in May. WAG named their full senior World Team in May, MAG named Hashimoto and Oka, then waited until after University Games to name the remaining four.

They named the Paris teams together after NHK in May 2024.

In 2023 they named 3 of the MAG and 4 WAG team members after NHK in May, then the other 2/1 members after All-Japan Individual Event Championship in June.

In 2022 they named 3 of the WAG team members after NHK in May, then the other 2 members after All-Japan Individual Event Championship in June.
