No way is LA not doing a separate team final for MAG and WAG.

Beam is where rings and horse are.
Pbars and High bar are where unevens go.
Vault is only for women so they don't have to change the setting.
Floor is floor.

Apparently they could not fit them in the arena all at once?

This seems to be the standard configuration for big events, but the British Championships manages to fit all the apparatus in the arena at the same time, so it can be done in some arenas at least.

Yeah, it's not difficult whatsoever to fit all the apparatus.

2 people is not enough of a team and no uneven bars = invalid event.

exactly and no vault pommel or rings for men either. Makes no sense and not an all round competition at all.

I’m not on twitter anymore, but I heard that Jarman was asking the gymternet how the mixed team competition works!

If I was going to drop a piece it would be vault for women. For Men I would do vault floor and high bar. Or rings/pommel, floor and high bar. Pommel would make a final more risky. You want a more varied mix of speed, strength, shoulder and leg events.

Romania has withdrawn, per Inside Gym. It sounds like the decision was to preserve Barbosu, who would otherwise be competing three days in a four day period.

Start lists. WAG side, it's Interesting that Jennifer Williams is starting on BB, I'd have thought she'd want to save it for the medal round (assuming she gets through). A lot of vaulting going on in round one. As a reminder, you have to do two vaults if you get to stage 3/the medal rounds, so I'd assume there will be a lot of beam in round three.

if they were allowed to pick it would give an opportunity to those who missed the aa or Ef or newcomers like eg Hezly in Paris. Or someone who messed up the qual. Would be way better and we would see more variety of gymnasts. This format means just more of the same gymnasts.

This entire format is so bizarre, and it's hard to take seriously any competition that doesn't include all the events and mandates which ones are included. Good on Romania for pulling out; someone is going to end up getting hurt, and I'm glad it won't be Barbosu
