Deng Yalan should have won that. One of Liu Jinru's legs goes into almost a full tuck position mid-air on her vaults and her landings/amplitude weren't better either.

I feel like neither of them should have won. They did the same vault twice, just different hand placements.

This is not allowed in MAG.

Asian Championships are right around the corner, so I imagine China will announce their teams soon. They're only sending seniors because the competition is very close to the Jr. National Games qualifier. Yes, there's a separate National Games for juniors this year. I don't know how that's going to work for teams like Guangdong, which relied heavily on juniors at these nationals.

FIG has the wrong website linked in their directives for the event, they list jcsports.co.kr as the official event website but it's supposed to be jcgym.co.kr

I think it's the correct decision, but it doesn't make any sense that Zhang Xinyi was instead selected. Yang Fanyuwei should be on the team, unless she requested not to go for some reason.

Her provincial team (Yunnan) might want to protect her for the National Games finals later this year. Conversely, they might not have enough clout to get her on a team for an international competition. (Yunnan is not exactly a WAG powerhouse. I think they've only had two or three National Team members in the last 20 years.)

Qin Xinyi and Yang Fanyuwei both competed at Asian Championships last year, that may be why they aren’t being sent immediately again.

Or maybe they’ll still be named to the team, I don’t think the one I posted is definitely the final confirmed team.

She had serious problems with her hips/groin and couldn’t continue to train.

She was at these Nationals, I think she was judging? I can’t remember now I’d have to go back and look later lol. I remember her being dressed like a judge.
