Romania Cup.png

Copied from FRG's Facebook and run through google translate, with some fixes:

"The National Championships will take place on November 15 and 16 and hierarchies will be established for both the individual all around and teams. According to the regulatory provisions of the FRG, the minimum age for participation is 15 years for the male competition and 13 years for the female competition, with a possible provision for a single 12-year-old gymnast on the team.

The Romanian Cup will take place on November 17, in a mixed team competition. A co-ed team will consist of one male gymnast and one female gymnast who will nominate: the gymnast with the highest total score on the 3 apparatus they will compete on out of: floor, vault, parallel bars, and high bar and the gymnasts with the highest total scoring on the three apparatus she will compete on out of: vault, uneven bars, beam, and floor. The teams will be formed by crossing the 1-8th places for women and the 8th-1th places for men in the qualifying competition.

YouTube playlist with individual routines:

ETA: Okay I can't figure out how to link the playlist directly, but if you click to open that video in your browser the whole playlist shows up.

I don't understand how Romanian club competitions work.

How is Ana Barbosu down for Focsani in AA but Steaua in the team competition? Isn't she normally listed as Focsani?

But does she ever actually train there, and is there any regular league or competition? Or is this just the club she started at as a child?

Bars are alarming, but the big gap is between Deva national teams and the rest. Not just Barbosu, Ghigoarta and Preda, but some good work from Raisa Chivu, Ariana Cotu, Alexandra Curcă Drăgan.

Romania just doesn't seem to have capacity to coach bars away from one national teams base.

Amalia Puflea looks as if she shouldn't be back in competition yet - she's landing every pass and dismount on her knees, or just avoiding it.

Nice to see Ghigoarta hitting all routines again. She's back to her pre-injury consistency and she's looking polished and confident.

No, she did not.

I know they all had a long break after the Olympics, Barbosu only started back training again about a month ago and Voinea was supposed to start back around then too. She may have just not been ready to compete anything yet.
I thought Voinea was retiring?

I thought Voinea was retiring?

I think that was just something said in the heat of the moment.

In this post from FRG on Instagram (longer ago than I remembered) it says Barbosu resumed training on Sept. 11th and Voinea came in for a medical visit. It looks like she may be taking more time to heal all her leg injuries.
