she also stumbled on her bb dismount. She could improve there.Out of curiosity calculated that Kaliya would’ve needed a 13.7 on bars to match Jordan in the AA. I hope she can make some strides on that piece this year.

She may have rips. Taping a balloon over them is a trick to reduce frictionwere those balloons sticking out of Kayla’s grips???
That Cheng is noticeably better than it was in 2021 and it was obviously already great at the Olympics. It just goes to show the importance of actually being able to perform continuously and make adjustments over a period of time. Same with her floor. The notion that female gymnasts had an extremely small window in their teens to peak has been so so damaging to this sport. Here’s Andrade’s Cheng in case you haven’t seen it
I wonder if it’s a case of being spread too thinly. They have a large elite team and Joscelyn and Tiana in particular need quite a bit of development and refining. With the caveat that I’ve only been able to watch the videos USAG posted to Twitter, I’m just so disappointed with what WCC has done (or not done) with Tiana.
Miller is also showing that she’s a contender on bars at the World level. Is she at her ceiling in terms of D score? This B team is scoring really well on these single events – Miller and Lincoln would have easily challenged for medals in Antwerp. From team / qualifications, it seems like DiCello or Chiles might have been better choices in the end for Wong’s Worlds spot, and Lincoln is being better received on floor than Roberson, with an easy 14+ if not for landing OOB on the Chuso. But of course Chiles had extra training time and didn’t look as good as Wong earlier in the selection process, and DiCello had some errors that relegated her to alternate.
I think Chiles and DiCello needed a bit more time and they got it before the PanAmerican gamesFrom team / qualifications, it seems like DiCello or Chiles might have been better choices in the end for Wong’s Worlds spot, and Lincoln is being better received on floor than Roberson
I also wonder if the Landis being away at worlds also had an impact - not getting the same coaching during part of the build up.I wonder if it’s a case of being spread too thinly. They have a large elite team and Joscelyn and Tiana in particular need quite a bit of development and refining.
Does anyone else coach the elites alongside the Landis?
She needs to take out the ring jumps on beamHe vault and beam are fine the way they are, she just needs to get consistent on beam, so she can get full credit.
Sh’e slowly upgraded floor.
Bars is a problem, but at least she can get through a bars routine and get a counting number for herself. I think continuing to work on bars is a better bet as that is what os holding her back all around wise.
Agreed, if she is not getting credit why do them. She needs to take out the ring jumps on beam
