Predict your Worlds medalists here! For each event, you will predict gold, silver, and bronze medalists as well as an alternate medalist.

Scoring guide: A correct prediction will result in 5 points. An incorrect medal color but a medalist nonetheless will result in 3 points. An alternate prediction winning a medal of any color will result in 2.5 points. So if I predict for WAG AA 1) Melnikova 2) Urazova 3) Heduit alt: Wei, and the result is 1) Urazova 2) Wei 3) Heduit, I will receive a total of 10.5 points. 5 points won for correctly predicting Heduit’s placement, 3 points won for correctly predicting Urazova to win a medal, and 2.5 points won for my alternate Wei winning a medal.

You do not need to fill out both WAG and MAG. I will keep and update a Google sheet. I will also calculate a cumulative WAG + MAG total.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You have until an hour before WAG AA final to modify your predictions for both WAG and MAG. Obviously you can update your predictions after Qualifications—I probably won’t make mine until then.

OTHER NOTE: You are restricted to one submission per Google account and you CAN edit after submitting.

THIRD NOTE: If you try to be sneaky and list two alternates for any given event, I will nullify both and count neither. One individual/team for each!

Feel free to post your predictions below as comments too, if you’d like.

Thanks for running this again. I was hesitant to enter in order to maintain my good record 😉 but I’ve had a bash. I’ve barely seen any qualis routines so it’s quite the crapshoot/some wish fulfillment.

I am unfamiliar with some of the gymnasts, especially for MAG (which I keep meaning to start following but never do outside of Olympics/sometimes Worlds), so I’ve just randomly picked names for several events. I fully expect some surprise podiums, so hoping for the best!
Thank you for running it.

Following my Olympic success (great guessing!) I’ve had another go - I’ve gone for some strange podiums which will totally happen!

I can’t remember if I had her or Urazova as my alternate. My answers were such a mix of genuinely trying to make predictions and pure wish fulfillment

My outsider (at least based on quali rank) pick of Onder for bronze came close (5th) but not close enough. Thankfully I had Kovtun as my alternate.

0.5!!! Congratulations QuietColors 🥳 I’m honoured to be the Hashimoto of the standings.

I’m pretty chuffed with the WAG win. I have the Japanese enquiry to thank for giving me the perfect floor top three. Tbh that was my predicted and my hoped for podium so I was happy despite the controversy.

Thanks again for running this YurchenkoLoop.
