GB men’s curling team getting another silver was heartbreaking. Their interview was hard to watch and it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a team so upset on the silver medal rostrum.
I was double screening men’s singles and skeleton (woooo 🥳🇬🇧) and enjoying the skating. IPlayer left skating as the top group came on and only returned when BBC2 came back with Grassl. Felt cursed. What a mess 🙈 Looking forward to finding the winning prog later.
I’m gutted for the British pair. Beat all the remaining teams during the round-robin but weren’t their best in the semi and then had a shocking 6th end conceding five to Sweden. They came 4th four years ago so the bronze medal match is going to be stressful (against Italy as well).
Does anyone feel like giving a four year fan a figure skating primer please?
I used to watch worlds and Euros in the late 90s early 00s but I’m definitely a four year fan now and couldn’t even ID the current front runners.
Probably joint “TF”/AA qualis. Same thing happened in 2000 with Russia: Khorkina, Zamo and Produnova did AA so Lobaznyuk and Kuznetsova didn’t compete at all. Amazing five person team that.
The danger with that approach is that it assumes USA gymnasts are primary and every other country is secondary. It almost reinforces the current imbalance. Unless of course American only threads go there as well and WAG is for wider scope threads.
