Teams have had seasons cancelled by the NCAA or by their own institutions for breaking rules or hazing. 2 or 3 Dlll football teams have cancelled because they had too many injuries, but I couldn't find anything that resembled what happened...
Shane competed AA at the Sam Mikulak invitational and scored 80.55, the highest so far in the nation, so he seems to be doing well.

The Birmingham being referred to is indeed in Alabama, but it has not been confirmed as the final choice. It's supposedly one of the 4 finalists.
