I don't think the Howells left because of any immediate threat. But the future is a lot less rosier at California than it is at Clemson.
Clarification - from what I understand the big Title lX lawsuit regards the 2.8 billion $ backpay, not the revenue sharing going forward. The back pay part is coming from the NCAA, and will be delayed until all appeals are exhausted.
