Either WCC had a going away party way in advance, or Laurent is wrapping up this week. There's an instagram story with "Farewell to Laurent!" and "We Will Miss You Laurent!"

Over on Reddit, one person says a replacement has been hired but it's not public yet. Another says many of WCC's elites have left. Notably, no WCC gymnasts attended the December camp. So, commence the speculation about the replacement, and where everyone is going to end up!

Wow that is 6 months earlier than we thought. Doesn't he have to stick around for his daughter to finish school in May or could she have an early finish already.

Well if they hired a new head coach, it would be expected that Laurent give up the role. Doesn't mean he is moving over to Georgia yet. Juliett still has her senior year, currently in progress.

Could be anything. Maybe Juliette is graduating early, maybe Laurent and Cecile don’t like being apart and he wants more freedom to be able to go between Texas and Georgia. Maybe a replacement coach has been found and they want to start sooner rather than later.

But. I am going to say they there is no imminent replacement. Several WCC elites have been spotted elsewhere and with Simone on hiatus, there isn’t the same urgency

The rumor is an international pick. What's Kiens up to now? He's done with Romania, right?

(edit to correct the autocorrect of Kiens' name)

I can’t for the life of me think which international coach they would poach.
No intel, but perhaps someone like David Kikuchi?

Certainly would be a big risk to take someone who isn’t familiar with the USAG levels/structure and college recruiting. Or indeed someone who doesn’t have the English language skills to coach at elite level.
