I'm putting this here because only Japan has announced their teams.

I know Nishiyama Misa is supposed to be the next big thing, but I'm not that impressed. Some big skills, but also lots of bent knees and flexed feet. Her 2.5 off beam looks like an ACL tear waiting to happen.

It will be interesting to see how she is received at worlds as a senior. She has a solid vault and a hit AA program from her I’m assuming would contend for a medal. If anything it’s exciting having more gymnasts contending for medals in the AA. Looks like this year we will have the Russians, Americans, China, Italy, Nemour, Colas and Japan all vying for the AA. Am I missing anyone?

Is the Philippines in contention for a team sport at worlds for wag?
If I'm not mistaken, they need to finish in the top four at the Asian Championships later this month. That could be tough because China, Japan, North Korea, and South Korea probably have the top four spots locked up. Also, PHI won't have Malabuyo or Finnegan at this competition.

Ok, yeah, it does not sound likely unless they Bai Chunyue one of the Yulo brothers. I’m assuming teams for next years worlds will qualify this year so no Olympic team in L.A.

This had me cracking up because the Yulo brothers' haircuts aren't so different from Bai Chunyue's.

Ahem. The third Yulo sib, Eliaza, will probably compete for PHI WAG Asian Champs, but, yeah. It's pretty unlikely they'll qualify a team to Worlds or LA. They might be able to get a few individual Olympic spots through the varied and convoluted qualifying meets. Finnegan hasn't ruled that out; not sure about Malabuyo.

Depending who makes up the team, yes they have a possibility.
It depends on North Korea as well. Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) usually grabs the 4th and final spot at Asian Championships. North Korea didn't opt to qualify a full team to Antwerp in 2023.

Phillippines with Malabuyo, Finnegan, Kvamme +2 were not able to get past Kazakhstan.

So they would need additional help to do so. Maybe if they continue and Levi Jung Ruvivar makes an elite comeback they could possibly sneak into Worlds. Not sure if they would have enough to make it to Los Angeles. Though I don't think it is entirely impossible, especially with the Olympics in LA.

Algeria was able to do it, granted they have arguably the best AA gymnast in the World right now, and an easier pathway as a full team.

China, Japan, and Korea are pretty much locks for Worlds so it leaves only 1 spot for the rest of Asia.

North Korea is definitely competing at the Asian Championships. I'd say they're a heavy favorite for fourth place.

I forgot about Taiwan (I refuse to call it Chinese Taipei). They might also have a shot at fourth, especially if Tonya Paulsson is there. I can't remember her elite plans for this year.

I'm not sure if Amanda Yap wil compete in Zunyi, but I'd love to see her secure an individual spot at Worlds
