As of today's AA win, Simone has 6 Olympic gold medals, placing her 3rd all-time for women's artistic gymnasts.

Should Simone compete in Los Angeles 2028, she could fare even better.

He retired at 31. He could have won more medals in Tokyo if he wanted to go for it. But he was ready for family time. His first was born before Rio. They have 4 sons now. I wonder if they will try to have a girl.

23 is just absurd. (I mean, they're all absurd, but wow)
Right?! You have a bunch of people tied with 9. Same for 8 and 7. And then you jump not to 10, 11, or even 12, but rather all the way to 23.

I expect Ledecky, Dressel, and/or Biles to break the tie of 9 in LA 2028.

I don't want to read this whole thread because I still have some events to watch, so this may have already been mentioned: Simone winning the AA makes a 20 year USA WAG AA streak.

2004: Carly
2008: Nastia
2012: Gabby
2016: Simone
2020: suni
2024: Simone

Has any country ever done that?

No.
The 6 in a row graphic has been heavily promoted on social media for a few days.

The US has medalled in every women’s AA, world and Olympic, since 2003.

Fair enough. I try to stay away from tiktok, Instagram and reddit.

U.S. stats as of the conclusion of gymnastics at the 2024 Paris Games:

Aly wins the tiebreak with Suni because she has more gold medals (3g, 2s, 1b) compared to Suni's 2g, 1s, 3b. However, Suni is the 2020 Olympic AA Champion so she doesn't care.
