Your first post here is to create a thread throwing shade at OU via the universal "judging" complaint?! Dont you have a reddit account? Idk, maybe you are sincere in your feeling/post. If so, judging has and always will be a source of contention for a subjectively scored sport. If it genuinely bothers you that much, don't watch. It seems that whatever they are doing is working right now. Maybe if enough people stop watching something more drastic will be done in regards to judging.

You bet. I know it's a subjective sport. I am seeing lopsided judging this season, with only one team being the favor of the judges. On Sunday, Jordan Bowers (OK) got a 10 of vault. When she landed it was clear as day that her right foot moved. She did not deserve that 10.

You are correct- there is favortism towards individual athletes as well which is not fair (remember the Trinity Thomas era?) but her entire team doesnt get the scores that OK does. Even LSU doesnt score as high as OK.

Overscoring has been around since the 1990s when the feud between Alabama and Georgia increased as was as Utah having won so many titles in the 80s.

Oklahoma is far from the only team that was over scored this weekend.

Agreed with Bowers vault not being a 10, but there were a wide variety of other discrepancies as well.

Majority (if not all) get gifts.

SEC scoring has historically been very generous.

Every top team gets overscored. Why single out just OU?

Why not ask mention the Olympian/Elite bonus that has been Chiles vault received 9.9+ scores all season? Or how Jade just has to present to get 9.9+ at home most weeks? Or that McCallum can get a 10 despite not pointing her feet? Or that Eaker manages to get over 9.9 on her beam regularly despite a built in 0.1 deduction for the world's flattest gainer?

Or why dont you also mention the amount of fake Florida home 10s that seem to occur on a weekly basis? Or the trend at LSU where the judges seem to ignore any form issues that happen on the apparatus and only just the landing? And these are just examples from the top teams.

Over scoring happens everywhere. It's not OU exclusive. Unless you are going to acknowledge how it's happening everywhere, there is really no discussion to be had. Just comes across as OU hate instead of a genuine concern about over scoring.

The overscoring of ANY team bugs me, but honestly, if it were universal, it would probably bother me less. There's no question that Oklahoma was being judged through a different lens than Mizzou, Auburn, and Arizona on Sunday though. The Olympian/home team/famous team bonus definitely happens more often than most fans would like - but to me, it's just as irritating and egregious as that Tennessee meet last year where teams who were struggling to get a mid-196 anywhere else were racking up the 9.9+ and even 10.0 scores. The stakes were higher this weekend and I do think the caliber of Oklahoma's gymnastics certainly made them worthy of advancing, but the actual team score was extremely inflated (and I thought the same of Alabama and Utah).
