Well, as an elite gymnast under martha, she’s used to pain and mental abuse…terrible that that is true.

I think she wins (if there is a “winning”) on the show.

At first I thought “how stupid.” But it actually looks kinda cool. And yes, Nastia should do very well on this show.

Nastia doesn’t deal well with the grappling. It’s supposed to be controlled aggression but she had a meltdown about involving herself so she barely tried. We know she went through some shit during her athletic career so I wonder if the meltdown had something to do with that.

A short lived topic, Nastia withdrew from the show this episode.

Whelp, I suppose I will not be surprised when I watch it now

Sounds like some drama went down with Nastia, too. https://www.cinemablend.com/televis...-celebrities-and-there-was-some-major-tension
Gus Kenworthy later confronted Nastia Liukin about the incident and said he felt it was unfair to everyone that she held up the process and was given a passing rating when others failed. Liukin said she didn’t like the idea of being looked down on by her peers for receiving special treatment, and Kenworthy’s comments confirmed that was the case.

Wow. She looked to be a very strong competitor.

One of the trailers said it's a five week special. Tonight looks like it's both episode 1 and 2 airing back to back from 8p-10p EST, then next Wednesday is episodes 3 and 4 back to back.

This is season 3. I didn't watch the first two seasons but looking at the Wikipedia for the show, it looks like most of the contestants withdraw. Only two people actually finished in Nastia's season, then only three finished the next one.

"Unlike many reality competition series, there are no formal elimination points; instead, contestants may voluntarily withdraw or be medically withdrawn at any point prior to completion. They may also be disqualified for failing to complete the final step of the course."

I've never watched this but I know that diver Melissa Wu was on the Australian version and she ended up with a back injury that took her out of commission for a year due to a boat landing on her or something along those lines.

when people get injured in gymnastics, or any sport, its for love of the sport. I mean injury is just part of many sports. But a reality tv show?
It’s for the love of fame and money I guess. I mean, no judgement, there’s a helluva lot I’m willing to overlook in return for a government issued metro pass
