2008 Olympic alternate He Ning ended up with the title. We were all delighted for her, but everyone knew that it came with an asterisk--no one more so than He Ning herself. She was very sheepish when fans and journalists congratulated her.

As a fan of Russian and Ukrainian gymnastics I have absolutely no idea how this feels.
 
What was that phrase that Bela used to shout randomly at his gymnasts - something like "smooth it on down"?

Does anyone know what that even meant?
He loved the word "smooth," but I don't think he was applying it properly

This video is missing the one just before Moceanu's beam dismount in Atlanta team optionals too! How a roundoff-double back can be "smooth" is beyond me
