Who loves football? I love football, especially national football. In fact most people who know me, would say I love football before gymnastics!

Who are you all supporting for the World Cup? I support England and Germany for football (not a common combination I know).

The BBC is listing squads here as they are announced. England announcement on Friday.

I'm not really a soccer fan, but usually end up watching at least part of the semi-final and final matches of the World Cup. I thought about trying to go to a game, since it's the first time in the U.S., but none of the locations are convenient, and it's not really a great time for me to be traveling right now. No idea about a team to pull for, though.

I'm a hit with tourists from London. Surely the World Cup will attract some to New England, even though demand from international visitors seems low. They'd stay in Providence and Boston depending on the match. So I'll do trips to Providence for some of the Boston (Foxborough) matches.

It will be interesting to see how the US fares in the second home World Cup. Previously, they advanced to the knock out round and did well against eventually champion Brazil. It was a close game with Brazil taking the win 1-0.

Soccer has gotten more popular in the US since then. So let's see.

Definitely have to consider that France, Spain, England, Brazil, Argentina, and Portugal.
Don't count out Morocco, Germany, or Croatia either.

Ha! Shows how much I follow this. I was completely convinced this was the first World Cup in the U.S.

The time difference will cause problems in the UK - with the England group matches kicking off at 9/10 o'clock at night everyone is going to be very 'merry' - especially for the match on 27 June against Panama as this is a Saturday. there will be a number of sick days for the other two matches which take place on a Tuesday/Wednesday. Fun times ahead!

Lots of matches here in NJ, including the final. My family lives far enough from MetLife Stadium that it won't impact our lives too much, but I plan to avoid NJ Transit in June and July.

I do envision a lot of World Cup-themed events at my daughter's summer camp. We'll make the best of it.

We (Kansas City) are the base camp for Argentina, England, the Netherlands, and Algeria. We host games with Argentina, Algeria, the Netherlands, Austria, Ecuador, Tunisia, and Curacao. While I'm excited to see what it is like (and will be cheering for the Netherlands), I'm terrified about what the added population to the KC Metro is going to do to daily activities. My college is going remote/virtual for Thursdays and Fridays with games, but that doesn't address just the sheer number of folks.
