Cancellation of the 2026 Apparatus World Cup in Doha (QAT)
20/03/2026World Gymnastics reports that, following an urgent online vote and in light of the current situation in the Middle East, its Executive Committee has decided to cancel the 2026 edition of the Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup in Doha (QAT), scheduled to take place on 15-18 April.
The event will not be postponed.
Consequently, the Executive Committee has also approved the following exceptional adjustment to the Rules regarding the number of highest results to be taken into consideration for the Rankings calculation:
The three (3) highest results (out of five competitions) per gymnast, per apparatus, will be considered regardless of the number of competitions the gymnast(s) participated in to determine, the Apparatus World Cup Ranking list (winner of the Series) and the the WCH Qualification World Cup Ranking list (World Championships qualification pathway for Apparatus Specialists).
Due to the exceptional nature of this decision, the official regulations in relation with the above will not be amended.
Furthermore, no penalties will be applied for late applications to the Cairo (EGY) and Osijek (CRO) Apparatus World Cups on 3-6 and 9-12 April, respectively.
World Gymnastics expresses its support to all those impacted by recent developments and hopes for a swift return to stability in the Middle East.
