Saw this dismount (at 3:10) on a random video and it got me thinking - what’s your favourite single piece of gymnastics (one skill or connection, or even piece of complex choreography), ever? Can be recent or old school.
I don’t think you can get much better than this dismount.
Yang Bo’s floaty LOSO into Rulfova:
First pass. I believe she only did the whip full at this meet. What an insane pass.
I cannot imagine how dizzy she was!
Beckerman’s triple turn ending in a smile day 2 of 2000 Trials is always what I immediately think of when these questions come up.
The flair sequence/second half of Alex Artemev’s pommel routine
Helen Hu’s 2016 FX. Just…all of it.
Mo Huilan’s chicken dance.
I thought she could have won floor gold in Sydney…probably would have if she was not injured and could only do bars.
There is no equal. I doubt there ever will be.
This is my first time seeing this and now I’m upset we didn’t see more of her in elite. Shades of Shantessa Pama in artistry.
Between the full and the leap series flowing directly into the acro series, this has to be my favorite ever
I like Atlanta optionals better I think tho
This would be my pick too for a full routine
What do you like about it? There’s little expression or interpretation, some pretty poor dance technique and a large part of the choreography is just acrobatic skills. It’s just a baby NCAA routine to me.
