NCAA 2022 Coaching Changes (vacancies in post 100)

I was told Dana tried to forge freshman Corinne Bunagan’s signature on a one-year conditional scholarship contract so she could dump her, as opposed to Bunagan originally signing a multi-year deal. I’m not sure how this works or how somebody would think they could get away with this. However...

NCAA 2022 Coaching Changes (vacancies in post 100)

Florida and Utah had major deferrals last year (+ Utah lost Skinner) and they still made FotF. UCLA’s apparatus coaching has been in decline for years IMO, especially VT/UB/BB. Their technique and gymnastics just look bad outside of what their A-team arrived on campus with, and then it’s always...

    FIG 2022-2024 Code Of Points

Skinner got monster scores in Nanning. They gave her a 15.775 for her Cheng in TF, and an 8.2 for this UB set in prelims. It was an unsavory affair until Mustafina did that floor routine in finals.

What will Simone do after gymnastics?

We also have this one. I’m not really sure what to say.

NCAA Georgia Gymdawgs 2022 season WORST in history

A certain, retired head coach (the one with a penchant for trolling, and throwing stones from his glass house) has been spreading the word privately that CKC was told a few weeks ago that her contract would not be renewed. We’ll see who replaces her. Tanking in the rankings, recruiting is so...

NCAA NCAA Week 11 (Conference Championship Week) March 18-19, 2022

Rumored Achilles, which would line up with her and the staff’s reactions + all the calf and ankle palpating. SEC scoring went way up in the PM session and the judges stopped caring. They just wanted anybody to hit and stick a few landings. Lmao @ 49.675 UB for Alabama, and 49.700 for what was...

Figure Skating Thread (Olympic Spoilers/Discussion starting at post #16)

One of my friends asked who Andrea Joyce was when Terry Gannon introduced her down on the rink, and I just texted back, “lol, good luck.”

    Training Watch

ESPN’s weekly sound byte has become Suni and Leanne want to try for 2022 Worlds. Bridget Sloan said Leanne still trains elite. I’m not sure why they’d want to, given the circumstances (training since 2021, early-quad Worlds in between two NCAA seasons). They’d be a relief for USA along with...

Simone Gets Engaged to NFL's Jonathan Owens

Aww. Great pics, hope she and they are happy.

NCAA NCAA Week 6 February 10-14

Whew. LSU @ Florida is going to be dramatic, whether it’s good, bad, or just a chaotic mess. Haven’t kept scores, but just watching, the judges have been protecting Florida and their regular season win interests. Then again, LSU is one of the most overscored teams every week, every year, so it...

Poor Roman Sadovksy of Canada. Gorgeous spins and presentation, bombs his jumps, and then I look him up and see that his parents are Ukrainian. Checks out from a WAG fan point of view 😭

Potential drama bomb, indeed. Edit: article discussing that the issue centers around a sample of Valieva’s: https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1119043/valieva-legal-problem-beijing-2022

USAG ends deal with FloGymnastics, creates own streaming platform: FlipNow

They have before, but I’d assume not this year. The meet starts in 8 days, but it’s not listed anywhere in their upcoming events, and WOGA’s event info doesn’t mention Flo anywhere that I can tell. Dying to see how McClain looks. I hope there’s footage somehow.

USAG ends deal with FloGymnastics, creates own streaming platform: FlipNow

I’m not a mind reader, but I’d assume Flo’s intent was mostly not diehard fans, but JO and junior families who genuinely do not know, and would shell out the subscription fee so they could watch a friend or family member at a meet for several minutes a year. Maybe some stray gymternet people...

NCAA UCLA, Alexis Jeffery, gymnasts calling out athletic director

FWIW, Jeffrey is part-Asian, not black. …and this was Marz’s position and what the athletes wanted, if you actually listened to the podcast. Nobody involved said kick her off and blacklist her. They asked for education beyond a generic HR meeting where somebody who doesn’t know the situation...
