I have always been a proponent of having CRs graduated in a similar manner to previous CoPs SRs where the dismount was included and was given a rating: A, B =0,0 C=0,3 and D+=0,5.
So if a gymnast on floor used a simple salto forward tucked to fulfill a component of the salto directional...
I remember in our gym, one athlete who was very talented, with great knees, ankles and toes, but very rigid in the torso - she spent countless hours just working on contractions and expansions of her upper body. I remember her draped over the vaulting horse trying to adapt her body. The poor soul.
As I mentioned previously, the program is an Elevian-initiated, and I believe that it works in conjunction WITH the video in that the deductions correspond WITH the key frames in the video. Elevian already posts videos in their app. If FIG were to implement this (or a similar) system, it would...
If the hand-held scoring was ever to be implemented, this would be doable. As I mentioned in another post, the entered deductions are reconciled with the video time-line, so the computer program could average all seven of the E-panels deductions for each element and then output a document.
Just going off the top of my head but I think the D-score from QC was 7,1:
G 1
E 3
D 4 for 3,8 - all CR for 2,0 and CV of 1,3 (1,1 in CV and 0,2 for DMT). for 7,1
E-jury also is supposed to enter deductions per phase, though depending on the event and the scoring system in use, this is not always the case. It is the same for artistry and execution - at major events, they are entered separately on the tablet - hence why artistry can be seen in some results...
Many abused gymnasts were successful (but at what cost?) and many well-adjusted gymnasts didn't have the same external successes, but since they were well-adjusted they dealt with it in a healthy manner.
I think that as trainers, it is necessary to be aware that the needs/wants of the athlete usually shift as they mature. I can remember that as a developing athlete I was reminded that I had 10% say in my training and the coach had 90% say, but as I progressed and matured, then I had more and...
This was the issue for Caylor - she was lost in the sea of Biles, Chiles, Roberson and the up-and-comers. Since she was not the stand-out type of gymnast she was tossed in the stew pot with the rest of the "we need to use them before they go bad" gymnasts. When the new chefs arrived, she was...
The MSSR (Melnikovian Soviet Socialist Republic) unofficially finished 1° in the WAG rankings and accounted for 75% of the AIN medals! The republic flag is (as someone called it) a "slime green" colour!
