FX EF INQUIRY (Jordan Chiles Stripped Of Bronze Medal/USAG launches appeal) PART 2

The thing that shook me the most was how they gradually raised her artistry deductions over the course of the meet, and gradually dropped Rebeca's. Wasn't there like, almost 3 tenths on average between them, just on artistry? Use any of her artistry deductions in QF, TF or AA, and she would have...

FX EF INQUIRY (Jordan Chiles Stripped Of Bronze Medal/USAG launches appeal) PART 2

I mean - surely it was Biles' for the taking?! She had like a billion out of bounds, got absolutely destroyed on artistry, was downgraded a leap which they gave to others - and she still basically won. It was Simone that completely threw that final gold medal away.

FX EF INQUIRY (Jordan Chiles Stripped Of Bronze Medal/USAG launches appeal) PART 2

There were so many issues with OOB deductions on floor in Paris. I just found another one. ETA: She would have easily made EF if she hadn’t fallen on the DLO. 12.7 with a fall.

    Warning about US WAG program.

Disagree on artistry. Or posture. But she does have nice extension through the knees and toes. Not through the upper body though.

As much as I like transparency, I don't think I am in favor of publicly listing a name next to the judges deductions. I dont think the FSU do this either, right?

The angle of completion on her pirouettes on bars, or her leg separations on vault? No. As to your second question - they're trying. But we can't all be ballerinas.

Back to topic - is the rule now that the foot has to touch the crown of the head? Foot at head height (which Saraiva's clearly is) still gets a 0.1 deduction, right?

Because she has lovely posture and carriage.

Allowing judges to see a 1/4 speed video replay of the vault should be a no brainer. These vaults are so complex nowadays. No-one was doing a Cheng in 1995.

    Warning about US WAG program.

I have her at an 8.3. I can't be arsed to type it all out (at least not today). But I had Skye 0.2 ahead of Melnikova (Skye 3 ahead on E, and 1 behind on D). We all know that Melnikova gets overscored.

    Warning about US WAG program.

I am absolutely not a Melnikova fan, but I don't think you can make such blanket statements like that. I had Yang in silver, Skye in bronze, McDonald in 4th, and Melnikova in 5th (losing a tiebreak). I have yet to do the AA. But when I'm bored between now and Winter Cup, and if we can find a...

    Event (FIG) Scoring Worlds Routines

Yes it seems like the problems stem from the 1-3-5 model. Melnikova's mistakes (like the leg sep) are borderline 1-3, so most judges go with 1. Karina's are visible, so they also get 1 - even though Melnikova's are visibly worse. And they end up with the same score. It is a shame. We need the...

    Event (FIG) Scoring Worlds Routines

Either way, given how bunched the E Scores are on vault, I think we can all agree that Melnikova's should not have been ranked higher in execution.

What are your 0.5 other tenths for Schoenmaier?

Totally agree. Except that I don't even think Shoenmaier should get 0.3 for the landing.
