I had been wondering the same thing - that’s the only reason I remember. 🙂

In the initial articles that came out about this, it said the former coach(es?) involved worked with him before he was at Utah, so I don’t think it was the Griffeths - though I’m sure they were interviewed for the investigation at some point.

The articles were written by the same man (Trent Wood). It seems that the investigation started in July, so no it wasn’t happening at the same time.

She’s the #1 recruit, and the top schools were very aggressive in recruiting her - so those programs and coaches did believe she’d be a game changer for them. Especially the extent to which Florida was recruiting her, when they already have six incredible gymnasts coming in in that same class...
